KABUL - Police say a Taliban raid of the Kabul traffic police headquarters is over and that three police officers and at least five insurgents have been killed in the hours-long fighting.

Interior Ministry spokesman Sediq Sediqi says the battle ended more than nine hours after it began early today with a car bomb attack against the front gate of the building.

He says four traffic policemen have also been wounded in the fighting.

Police Chief Mohammad Salangi says another 10 people were wounded.

He says two Taliban suicide bombers were killed at the gate, another blew himself up inside the building and two others were killed by security forces before they managed to detonate their vests.
