Los Angeles police seek missing Canadian woman; disappearance seen as suspicious

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Police are seeking a young Canadian woman who disappeared during a visit to Los Angeles.

A Police Department press release says 21-year-old Elisa Lam of Vancouver, British Columbia, was travelling alone and was last seen at a downtown hotel.

The statement says her disappearance is suspicious and may suggest foul play.

Details are to be released at a Wednesday afternoon press conference at police headquarters. Detectives hope the public can supply leads to Lam's whereabouts.
