A woman was hit by a taxi early Monday night, despite being in a marked crosswalk with flashing lights.
Her injuries were not life-threatening.
The incident happened about 6 p.m. at Burnside Road West and Interurban Road, prompting a warning by Saanich police for motorists to take note of difficult road conditions. Motor Vehicle Act charges are pending against the driver, said Saanich Staff Sgt. Todd Bryant.
It was a difficult night for taxis at about the same time, a truck backed into a cab on Cloverdale Avenue. No one was injured.
Its going to be dark and rainy with limited visibility, Bryant said. People should slow down and be careful.
