The International Advisory Board at the University of Victoria’s Peter B. Gustavson School of Business has expanded its numbers and focus.

A separate local advisory group, Gustavson Associates, has been folded in “to ensure broad industry representation locally, nationally and internationally,” said chairman Matthew Hall, a former CEO of food giant Nestle, currently with London-based consulting firm GoodBrand, and executive-in-residence at Gustavson.

“The combined board will allow us to be even more effective and efficient and bring a local context to our global vision,” he said.

Three new members have been appointed to the board — Patrick Kelly, a member of the Leq:amel First Nation who owns a consulting business and mentors students at Gustavson; Christian Kittleson, an assistant deputy minister and UVic alumnus; and Elizabeth Dutton, vice-president of digital for Black Press.

The board is composed of international business executives and educators. They include Matt Hall, Jane Zhu, Jawahar Vadivelu, Brent Kokoskin, Jeffrey Harris, Blair Hagkull, Mike Thompson, Narasimhan Narayanan, Bjorn Moller, and Peter Kibiuk. In addition to business dean Saul Klein, board members from Gustavson are Ali Dastmalchian, A.R. Elangovan, Pat Elemans, and Sue Bengtson.
