Victoria and Saanich police seized more than $30,000 worth of drugs and $15,000 in cash after executing three search warrants Thursday. The effort started at 10 a.m. and included homes on Glasgow Avenue, Seven Oaks Road and Ash Road, near Majestic Drive. Police found two ounces of heroin and 7.5 ounces of cocaine, along with drug paraphernalia and a car.The targets of the investigation were two Saanich men, aged 23 and 26, who were arrested at the Glasgow Avenue residence. The searches at the other two homes followed.Victoria police said the two men had flown under the radar in previous investigations, but things began to turn after information was obtained from a drug-related search on Fort Street in June.Const. Jeff Lawson from the Victoria police Strikeforce unit said officers had been aware of the men for some time.Previously, we kept getting a runner or an associate, he said in a statement. But these two were always the primary targets and were happy to have worked with [Saanich] to shut down their operation.Victoria police said members of their Strikeforce unit observed the men carry out a series of recent drug deals. The transactions were made in Victoria, Saanich, Esquimalt, View Royal and Colwood, all within a few hours, police said.
