Man hit, killed by CN train on Lower Mainland

An intoxicated 50-year-old Langley man was killed early Saturday after walking into an oncoming train in Fort Langley, according to Langley RCMP.

The incident happened about 1: 45 a.m. as a westbound CN train plowed into the man.

"He had been on foot and just because of his intoxication he stepped in front of the train," said Staff Sgt. Kevin Wass. "He'd been drinking with friends throughout the evening."

It is unknown whether the man or his friends lived nearby. CN and the B.C. Coroner's Service are investigating.
