A Victoria hotelier charged with five counts of aggravated assault after a string of stabbings at the Red Lion Inn and Suites last weekend appeared in Victoria provincial court on Friday.
Red Lion part-owner Zhi Wei Meng, 54 who goes by Wally made a brief appearance. His defence lawyer, Steve Kelliher, asked for the case to be adjourned until Dec. 5 at 2 p.m.
Outside court, Kelliher was asked if Meng would apply for bail.
That will depend on the medical information we receive, Kelliher said.
In the meantime, Meng will remain in custody at the Vancouver Island Regional Correctional Centre.
