A motorcyclist suffered multiple injuries in a collision with a car in Saanich on Saturday afternoon.
A 27-year-old Saanich motorcyclist was driving west on Royal Oak Drive when he hit a car that was attempting to turn left onto Elk Lake Drive.
Saanich police said the motorcyclist, who had the right of way, was unable to stop in time and crashed into the front passenger door of the car.
The motorcyclist received multiple injuries, including a broken right wrist. He was taken to Victoria General Hospital by paramedics.
Saanich police credited the motorcyclist's defensive driving with saving him from more extensive injuries.
An 89-year-old woman from Sidney has been charged with failing to yield while making a left turn, which carries a $167 fine.
