Victoria police searching for suspect in Ford F-150 theft, chase and crash

Victoria police are searching for suspects after a stolen vehicle was smashed into a utility pole and abandoned early this morning.

Police, patrolling in a marked car, say they saw a 2013 Ford F-150 speeding around the area of Tillicum and Craigflower roads at about 3 a.m. today.

When officers circled to investigate, they say the truck sped off and crashed into a power pole at Lampson Street and Craigflower Road, said to Victoria police spokesman Const. Mike Russell.

Police found downed power lines at the scene, which created a hazard.

“When [police] were able to approach they noted the vehicle was unoccupied,” Russell. “A canine track was quickly established but police were not able to identify the suspects.”

The theft is under investigation.
