Two people suffered minor injuries after a head-on crash on Saturday evening on Blanshard Street, just south of Saanich Road.
Just before 10 p.m., the 63-year-old Victoria man turned from Saanich Road to the northbound lanes of Blanshard. A 36-year-old Sooke woman, who was northbound, swerved in an attempt to avoid a collision, but the vehicles still made contact.
The man failed a breathalyzer test and received an immediate 90-day roadside prohibition and a $368 fine for driving without due care and attention. His vehicle was impounded for 30 days. He was also treated at the hospital for minor back pain.
