Victoria man faces drug-trafficking charges

A 31-year-old Victoria man is in custody after a drug bust on Queens Avenue.

Victoria Police are recommending six drug charges against the Victoria man after a search warrant was executed on Oct. 21 by the department’s strike force section and the Greater Victoria emergency response team in the 800-block of Queens Avenue. 

The 31-year-old and a woman were arrested and police located half a kilogram of methamphetamine, 42.5 grams of cocaine, two grams of heroin, and four litres of Gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid (better known as GHB) and several weapons, reported Const. Matt Rutherford this morning.

The woman was subsequently released from custody.

Police are recommending a total of six charges against the 31-year-old man: Three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking; possession of a controlled substance; two counts of possession.
