Two people were taken to hospital after a multi-vehicle car crash in Metchosin on Monday morning.

Highway 14, or Sooke Road, reopened just before 8 a.m. after a crash between Connie Road and Kangaroo Road about an hour earlier.

Sooke fire chief Steve Sorensen said three vehicles were involved in the head-on crash. Two occupants from one vehicle were taken to hospital as a precaution after the vehicle’s air bags went off.

After the highway reopened, the road was heavily congested with traffic backed up about three kilometres, Sorensen said.
