Two men were taken to hospital after the all-terrain vehicle they were on was hit by a pickup truck on Saturday on the Island Highway.
It appears that the ATV was pulling a utility trailer carrying two logs as it was driven on the highway, south of Merville, shortly after 6 p.m., said Courtenay Fire Chief Don Bardonnex.
RCMP attended. The men on the ATV were taken to hospital with what are believed to be non-critical injuries, he said.
The occupants of the truck were not injured.
