Two men have been arrested in connection with Friday’s shooting in Courtenay, which left one man in hospital.

“The investigation continued throughout the weekend, and the Comox Valley RCMP have made two arrests in this incident,” said Comox Valley RCMP spokesman Const. Rob Gardner.

One man was arrested this morning. Both men are in police custody.

The 31-year-old man was shot in the 1600 block of Piercy Avenue near 17th Street about 2:55 p.m. He was rushed to a hospital in Courtenay and then airlifted to a larger hospital for treatment.

Neighbours have raised concerns about one problem home on Piercy Avenue where people can be seen coming and going at all times of the day.

A few weeks ago, someone fired three shots at the home, one of which went through the window.

The home is owned by Janette Sumner, who confirmed to the Times Colonist that there was a drive-by shooting around 12:30 a.m. No one was injured but a bullet went through the front window.
