Two charged with attempted murder in Victoria West beating

Two men, ages 55 and 60, were arrested after a man was found with life-threatening injuries, including a possible skull fracture, Victoria police said.

A 43-year-old man is in Victoria General Hospital after being found severely beaten Friday, Victoria police reported Monday.

At about 9 p.m. Friday, Victoria police were called to a two-level multi-room residential building in the 200-block of Langford Street at Catherine Street in Victoria West.

At the scene, two men, ages 55 and 60, were arrested after a man was found with possibly life-threatening injuries, including a possible skull fracture, said Victoria police.

The victim was rushed to Victoria General Hospital.

Victoria police are heralding the efforts of an unidentified person who called 911 for possibly interrupting the beating and saving the victim’s life.

George Earl Storry, 60, and Russell Hugh Meredith, 53, both of Victoria, have been charged with attempted murder.
