Police are hoping the graffiti tags or signatures left on the man’s head and face will help identify the person or people responsible.

Thanks to a tip, police have “a possible suspect” in the case of an intoxicated man who was spray-painted with graffiti while he was passed out, said West Shore RCMP Sgt. Max Fossum.

But police are still looking for tips in the bizarre case, which saw the head, face and abdomen of the 48-year-old victim marked in pink, purple and black spray paint.

“They definitely took their time,” Fossum said. The man had passed out under the Six Mile Road overpass on Feb. 19, and needed care, he said.

Police are still interviewing the victim, who also suffered a broken nose, although it’s not known whether it’s related to the spray-painting.

Police came across the West Shore man walking, drenched from falling in water. They hope the graffiti tags or signatures left on the man’s head and face will help identify the person or people responsible. Anyone with information is asked to call West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
