Stephen Lewis will visit Victoria today, throwing his support behind local NDP candidates.
Lewis, Canada’s former ambassador to the United Nations, will join Murray Rankin (Victoria) and Randall Garrison (Esquimalt-Saanich-Sooke) and supporters at Rankin’s campaign headquarters, 851 Yates St., at 12:30 p.m.
The former UN special envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa was a politician before he became a diplomat, serving as leader of the Ontario New Democratic Party for much of the 1970s.
