Ayton Place in Langford

A 24-year-old Sooke man was stabbed under the arm during a fight in a Langford neighbourhood Saturday night after two masked men forced their way into a recreational shed.

Reports of a fight involving five to 10 young men on the short cul-de-sac of Ayton Place, just off Sooke Road, were received about 8:15 p.m.

The masked men forced their way into the shed, which had been converted to a hang-out spot, and demanded money and cell phones from the group.

The seven young men in the shed refused, a fight began and the victims were chased from the yard, at which time one of the men was stabbed near the armpit with a knife.

Westshore RCMP said several other people were injured but were treated at the scene, while the stabbing victim was taken to Victoria General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, said Cpl. Cory Bayda.

After a canine search, officers were unable to find the suspects, however a pellet gun resembling a black automatic handgun was found in the backyard of the home on Ayton Place. Officers were unsure if the pellet gun, which was found in the grass in the backyard, had been used during the fight, Bayda said. Westshore RCMP are continuing to investigate.

RCMP said they have been to the home on Ayton Place before and they believe the incident was targeted.
