Six people are vying for the spot on View Royal town council that came open with the resignation of Heidi Rast.
Mark Brennan, Nathan Kyle Daisley, Adam Flint, Angela Hanes, Damian Kowalewich and Jodi Zwicker have filed nomination documents for the byelection.
The winner will hold the seat until the fall of 2018, when the next B.C. municipal elections will be held.
Rast topped the polls for council candidates in the 2011 and 2014 elections. She left for a job in Prince Edward Island.
Voting day is Nov. 18. Ballots can be cast between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. that day at View Royal Elementary School, 218 Helmcken Rd. Voters can also vote in advance, with polls open on Nov. 8 and Nov. 15 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. at View Royal town hall, 45 View Royal Ave.
