A 75-year-old woman whose body was found in a wooded area off the Strathcona Parkway last April died from an overdose, according to the coroner. Shirley Marie Burstall of Victoria died from an overdose of pills containing acetaminophen and codeine, said coroner Dan Doerksen in a report released Friday.
Burstall left her Saanich home on March 31 and said she was headed to Tofino but never arrived.
A motorist spotted her car on a short gravel road off Strathcona Parkway on April 23. Police found Burstell’s body about a kilometre from her car in the woods on April 27.
