Saanich’s Canada 150 Mosaic will be showcased today at the Cedar Hill Arts Centre.
The mosaic project, a collection of #Grateful4Saanich panels, photographs and social media posts about residents’ favourite things about the municipality, was undertaken to mark Canada’s 150th anniversary. It will be in place at the arts centre, 3220 Cedar Hill Rd., until Jan. 22.
Saanich’s Canada 150 time capsule will also be on display at the event from 6-8 p.m. today, and members of the public will be able to write comments on postcards that will be placed inside.
The time capsule will be installed at the Saanich Municipal Hall, likely in April or May, after all of the contents have been chosen. The plan is to open it for the 200th anniversary of Confederation in 2067.
