Police seek driver of car damaged by pedestrians in downtown Victoria

Victoria police are looking for the driver who had his car window smashed during an altercation with three pedestrians on Friday. The incident happened about 8:30 a.m. at Broad and Johnson streets.

After an “interaction” between three pedestrians and the driver of a Ford Focus at Johnson and Broad streets, the car’s back window and tail lights were smashed.

Victoria police are looking for the driver who had his car window smashed during an altercation with three pedestrians on Friday.

The incident happened about 8:30 a.m. at Broad and Johnson streets. Witnesses told police that after an “interaction” between three pedestrians and the driver of a Ford Focus, the car’s back window and tail lights were smashed.

Police were called, but the driver and pedestrians were gone by the time officers arrived.

“Investigators found evidence on scene consistent with witness descriptions of significant damage to the vehicle,” said Victoria police spokesman Bowen Osoko.

Police want to speak with the driver to make sure he’s OK and get his take on the incident.

The driver of the vehicle is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 45- to 56-years-old with short grey hair.
