The man found dead in the Inner Harbour March 5 has been identified as 26-year-old Scott Owen Smith of Victoria.
“We’re classifying it as a suspicious death,” said Victoria police Const. Mike Russell.
He said it has not yet been determined how the man died.
Smith’s body was found in the water just south of the Johnson Street Bridge. Police investigators are asking anyone who was with Smith on the night of March 4 or the morning of March 5 to call Victoria police at 250-995-7654 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
