The woman was walking home around 9 p.m. when a young man yanked the purse from her arm and ran down Blanshard Street, according to police.
The woman, who was not injured, described the man as slim. He was wearing a grey or tan winter parka with the hood up.
Police searched the area with the canine unit, but could not find the suspect or any of the stolen items.
