Regional police officers confiscated crack cocaine, cash and the vehicle the drugs were in at a Langford road check on Friday night.
Officers stationed on Bear Mountain Parkway noticed drugs on the console of a 2002 Ford Taurus.
The driver was also trying to hide money under his leg, according to the region’s integrated road safety unit.
A search of the vehicle revealed scales and a small amount of marijuana, leading investigators to believe the man was involved in a drug delivery operation.
“We think he was probably at the end of his daily rounds,” said Cpl. Ryan Bacica of IRSU. “He didn’t have a lot of product with him, but he had a lot of cash.”
Police confiscated about $240 worth of crack cocaine and about $500 in cash.
A 19-year-old Langford resident has received a driving prohibition and is charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. He is expected to appear in court next month.
