Update: A 60-year-old man has died after being hit by a semi-trailer in Nanaimo on Wednesday afternoon.
Nanaimo RCMP said the man was trying to cross the Nanaimo Parkway near Aulds Road when he was struck.
The collision near Aulds Road and the Nanaimo Parkway was reported about 4:10 p.m., Nanaimo RCMP said.
The pedestrian was taken to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.
Lane closures and detours were in effect as police investigated.
