Saanich police report more than 15 thefts from vehicles overnight Sunday in and around the 4900-block of Cordova Bay Road, below the Cordova Ridge area.

The thefts were from unlocked vehicles, police said, and included such things as sunglasses, phone chargers, loose change and small electronics such as iPods and GPS units.

Saanich police Acting Sgt. Jereme Leslie said no locked vehicles were broken into. He said the doors of the vehicles that were entered were left ajar to avoid the noise from closing them.

The public is reminded to lock vehicles, even if they are parked in a driveway, and to remove anything of value.
