A person has died after a two-vehicle crash in Courtenay on Wednesday.
The crash occurred about 7:55 a.m. at the intersection of Headquarters Road and Tsolum River Road/Smith Road.
B.C. Ambulance paramedics took both drivers to hospital, where one died of their injuries.
More information about the deceased will not be released until next of kin are notified, said Comox Valley RCMP Const. Rob Gardner.
Headquarters Road was closed for several hours as the Comox Valley RCMP municipal traffic section, North Vancouver Island traffic services, the integrated collision analysis and reconstruction service, the B.C. vehicle safety and enforcement unit investigated.
