It was “100 per cent” fortunate that a serious crash that occurred on the Patricia Bay Highway at Tanner Road on Sunday did not result in major injuries, say Central Saanich Police.

Just before 5 p.m., a northbound driver of a late-model northbound sedan made a left turn, colliding with the passenger side of another late-model sedan travelling south, said Const. Kyle Sims.

The vehicles both suffered serious damage, but no life threatening injuries to the occupants, who were able speak with B.C. Ambulance personnel before being taken to Victoria General Hospital.

Sims said there has been no decision on whether charges will be laid.
