The Nanaimo RCMP is asking for public help in the search for Derrick George.
George, 29, left his home in central Nanaimo on Monday and has not had any contact with his support network since. He does not drive, does not own a cellphone and is not active on social media.
Police said his disappearance is out of character. They believe he might be walking to Port Alberni or Duncan.
George is described as First Nations, six-foot-two and 300 pounds with shaggy, brown hair and some facial hair.
