Nanaimo RCMP have issued a provincewide arrest warrant for 39-year-old Colin Lamontagne, who is wanted on gun and drug charges.
Police say he had a loaded handgun and drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
The charges stem from a major drug bust at homes in Ladysmith and Nanaimo on Dec. 4 where police found clandestine labs producing GHB, also known as the date rape drug. Police say they found a significant amount of drugs, guns, weapons and stolen property.
Two men and three women were arrested.
Lamontagne is from Nanaimo and has an extensive network of friends and family throughout central Vancouver Island.
He is a white, six foot two and 319 pounds. He has dark brown hair, blue eyes and may have a short stubble goatee.
Police say he should be considered dangerous.
