The RCMP said they do not have an estimated time as to when the road will reopen.

Three people, a mother and her two daughters, avoided injury when a pickup truck crashed into their home in Langford on Monday afternoon.

The crash, just after 3:15 p.m., caused a gas leak when a meter was damaged. Residents in the area were evacuated because of the leak. Power lines were also damaged.

The house is in the 2700-block of Sooke Road.

Sooke Road was closed between Happy Valley Road and Luxton Road until about 5:30 p.m.

RCMP Cpl. Heniz Krauss told CHEK News that the driver, the only occupant of the pickup truck, apparently went off the road because of a medical issue. The driver was taken to hospital.

“The mother and the youngest daughter were actually in the living room when the truck entered the living room,” Krauss said. They were not struck by flying debris caused by the crash, he said.
