Medical emergency delays B.C. Ferries sailing between Naniamo-West Vancouver

A B.C. Ferries sailing to Departure Bay in Nanaimo from West Vancouver’s Horseshoe Bay was delayed 37 minutes by a medical emergency on board.

A man on the 3:10 p.m. sailing had a diabetic seizure and was initially treated by crew and doctors on board, said B.C. Ferries spokeswoman Deborah Marshall. An ambulance met the ferry at the terminal in Nanaimo.

The emergency caused a delay in offloading.
