Port Alberni RCMP are investigating after several thousand dollars was stolen in an armed home invasion early Tuesday.
Police said three men wearing masks, gloves and dark clothing forced their way into a home on Redford Street and threatened the resident with a weapon, before leaving with the money.
The resident was not injured.
Most of the money taken was in $100 Canadian bills.
Anyone with information is asked to call Port Alberni RCMP at 250-723-2424 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Crime Stoppers will pay up to $2,000 for details leading to an arrest.
