West Shore RCMP and the B.C. Coroners Service are investigating after a man in his 30s was found dead on a trail off Whitehorn Place in Langford on Friday.

Police were called about 6:45 a.m. after a jogger came across a lifeless body on the short but steep and rocky trail, said West Shore RCMP spokesman Const. Alex Bérubé.

B.C. Ambulance attended and confirmed the man was deceased.

Bérubé said it was too early to determine the cause of death. There were no signs of foul play, he said.

The man has been identified and his next of kin will be notified. Bérubé could not say where the man is from.

Police ask anyone with information that could assist the investigation to call them at 250-474-2264.
