Man barricades self in downtown Victoria apartment

A Victoria man was taken into custody after he barricaded himself in a suite in View Towers in Victoria Thursday.

Victoria police were called to a disturbance on the 14th floor and there were reports the man may have had a weapon.

The Greater Victoria emergency response team assisted Victoria police with entering the suite and arresting the man on a mental health warrant.

He remained in custody Thursday evening.
