A program called “Corridor of Lights” is brightening up alleyways in the downtown area.

So far, 1,000 lights have been hung in Trounce Alley at a cost of about $8,000, said Downtown Victoria Business Association general manager Ken Kelly. Another 500 lights will be placed in Fan Tan Alley.

The DVBA and property owners are splitting the costs of the program, which they hope will improve both esthetics and safety, Kelly said.

He said he would like to hear from people interested in partnering to light up alleyways and other areas.
