Daniel Kipkoech of Kenya defended his race title by again winning as he crossed the finish line in 29 minutes and 59 seconds.

It was quite a feat to break 30 minutes, considering there was such a stiff headwind.

The women’s champion was Dayna Pidhoresky, a native of Windsor, Ont., now training in Vancouver, who crossed the finish line in 33:43. That ended Kenyan Jane Murage’s four-year reign as women’s champion.

Murage, battling a knee injury this year, placed third.
