A late-night break and enter at the Bay in Mayfair Shopping Centre netted thieves thousands of dollars worth of jewelry on Wednesday.

Victoria police were called about 11:30 p.m. with a reports of an alarm at the store. Officers arrived almost immediately and discovered that a door had been forced open.

Several jewelry cases had been emptied.

Victoria and Saanich police dog teams were brought in but no suspects were found.
