Victoria wants the public to help add lustre to the jewel known as the Inner Harbour.

The city is seeking public input on three Inner Harbour sites: Ship Point, Belleville Terminal and lower Wharf Street.

“The Inner Harbour has been seen and continues to be seen as the jewel of the region — one of the most important and defining elements of Victoria,” said Mayor Dean Fortin. “Although we’ve gone through many, many plans, it still remains of heightened interest.”

Comments will be used to help develop guiding principles and development concepts for each site.

An open house is scheduled for May 9 from 3-7 p.m. at Ship Point (946 Wharf St.). City staff and representatives from Tourism Victoria, Greater Victoria Harbour Authority, Downtown Victoria Business Association and the Royal B.C. Museum will be in attendance.

On May 10, the Victoria Conference Centre will play host to an Ideas Forum.

Participants in the sessions, which begin at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., will take part in discussions exploring questions related to the sites.

Pre-registration is required. Email your name and preferred session to [email protected] by May 1.
