Thirty firefighters from North Cowichan, Duncan and Maple Bay took about four hours Wednesday to extinguish a fire at a legal marijuana grow-op.
The fire, which broke out about 1 p.m., consumed six compartments in a storage facility at 2935 Sprott Rd., north of Duncan, said North Cowichan Fire Chief Scott Henning. Five of the units had been combined to make space for the commercial growing operation, Henning said.
No one was injured in the blaze and the cause of the fire is still under investigation. No damage estimate was available.
