A single-family home in the 800 block of Canterbury Road in Saanich sustained significant fire and smoke damage on Wednesday.
Saanich firefighters responded to a 911 call about 6:45 p.m. The fire was quickly knocked down, said Capt. James Crighton. Structural damage was estimated at $200,000.
The house was under renovation but Crighton could not say whether the fire was related to work being done.
There was nobody in the home at the time of the fire.
