Female jogger taken to hospital after she was struck by car on Saltspring

A 55-year-old woman was taken to Victoria General Hospital on Monday after she was struck by a vehicle on Saltspring Island.

The woman was jogging with a group on Lower Ganges Road when she crossed in the path of a vehicle, said Sgt. George Jenkins of Saltspring Island RCMP.

The jogger was conscious when she was loaded into the helicopter, said Jenkins. Charges are not being considered against the driver.

Glare from the sun may have blinded the driver temporarily, Jenkins said.
