A Campbell River family is growing increasingly desperate to find a teen who has been missing for almost a month.

Jordan Holling hasn’t been seen since the early morning of Oct. 16, when he left a friend’s house on 16th Avenue in Campbell River to walk the few blocks home. He never arrived at his mother’s house on 17th Avenue and failed to show up for work later that day.

“We have no idea what happened to him,” said Nachelle Hicks, Holling’s aunt.

Holling’s 18th birthday was Nov. 1, a sombre day for his parents and two younger siblings, she said. Holling, a computer whiz, is two credits away from graduating from Carihi Secondary School, Hicks said.

Campbell River RCMP are investigating and say the disappearance is out of character for Holling.

In the days after his disappearance, police officers went door to door trying to piece together his movements.

Mounties have analyzed Holling’s bank records and tried to trace his cellphone. Search-and-rescue volunteers and community members have widened the search, covering ground on ATVs, horseback and foot.

Holling’s face is on hundreds of flyers, a billboard, a YouTube video and the specials menu at a local restaurant. A Facebook page called Missing: Jordan Alexander Holling has 4,000 members.

His family is trying to attract national media attention for the missing-person case.

“The fear is that [Jordan’s disappearance] will be forgotten. People around us are not letting that happen,” Hicks said.

“We’re trying to stay positive, but we’re really concerned.”

Holling is described as five-foot-11 and about 145 pounds. He has shaggy brown hair and wears glasses.

He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved grey sweatshirt, black pants and black and red shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police. Anonymous reports can be made by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
