A man was arrested after the Petro-Canada gas station on Craigflower Road was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash on Wednesday evening.
Victoria police spokesman Const. Matt Rutherford said witnesses spotted a man running in the direction of the Gorge Pointe Pub Liquor Store on Tillicum Road.
“He was arrested a short distance away and remained in custody overnight,” Rutherford said.
After being escorted to Victoria General Hospital, the suspect assaulted a paramedic.
He was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
