A motorist was issued a ticket for failing to stop at a red light after a collision at Tillicum Road and the Trans-Canada Highway that tied up the morning commute on Thursday. Police said no one was seriously hurt.

Saanich police Sgt. Jereme Leslie said a vehicle heading east on Tillicum went through a red light and was T-boned by another going south on the highway at about 8 a.m.

“Traffic was affected for around 40 minutes,” Leslie said. “And for a period of time we had to actually shut down southbound traffic and divert it down Tillicum.”
