A 90-year-old motorist died Friday in hospital, hours after he was involved in a collision on Admirals Road in Esquimalt.
At about 8 a.m., the man’s car turned from Admirals Road onto Woodway Road into the path of a truck, said Const. Mike Russell of Victoria police.
The intersection was closed until 1:30 p.m. as police carried out their investigation.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
Both front ends of the vehicles were crushed, and the force sent vehicle pieces nearly 10 metres away.
