Cyclist injured in collision on Comox Valley Parkway

A 67-year-old cyclist suffered serious injuries after a collision with a car in Courtenay on Wednesday. The crash happened about 11:15 a.m. on the Comox Valley Parkway, just west of Piercy Avenue.

The crash happened about 11:15 a.m. on the Comox Valley Parkway, just west of Piercy Avenue.

The cyclist was taken to a local hospital, then airlifted to a larger hospital, said Comox Valley RCMP spokesman Const. Rob Gardner.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

RCMP crash analysts are working to determine what caused the crash.

Comox Valley RCMP ask anyone who was in the area at the time or witnessed the crash to call them at 250-338-1321, citing file No. 2017-9492.
