Workers are removing the pilings for the former Pacific Undersea Gardens to make way for a new dock for the V2V Empress, a 254-passenger, 126-foot ferry that will provide service between downtown Victoria and downtown Vancouver.
V2V Vacations expects to launch the ferry on May 1 with three choices of fares — $120, $199 and $240 — for a one-way, 3 1⁄2-hour trip.
Daily sailings will leave Vancouver at 8 a.m. and Victoria at 2 p.m., travelling from beside the Steamship Terminal Building in Victoria to the Convention Centre docks in Vancouver.
