The Cowichan Tribes community is concerned about a 26-year-old man who left home and hasn’t returned for more than a week.
North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP are looking for Ian Preston Douglas Henry, who left his home in the Tzouhalem Road area on Aug. 21 without saying where he was going.
His family, friends and the Cowichan Tribes community have been searching for him but have not found any clues as to where he might be, said RCMP spokeswoman Cpl. Krista Hobday.
Henry has left home for extensive bike rides north and south of Duncan in the past but his family has always been contacted by friends or community members to say they have seen him and he is well.
Police have checked Island hospitals and locations Henry is known to frequent.
Henry suffers from a medical condition that requires medication and police do not know if he has any with him.
Henry is First Nations male, about five-foot-10 and 160 to 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark shirt and a pair of dark shorts.
He is believed to be riding a red and black 15-speed mountain bike.
“There have been a few reported possible sightings of Mr. Henry in the McAdam Park and Duncan Mall areas around Aug. 25, but police were unable to confirm these,” said Cpl. Dave Ryan.
North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP ask anyone who sees Henry or knows of his whereabouts to call them at 250-748-5522.
